John is a native of Portland and currently resides on Rapids Road. John graduated from Portland High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Tennessee and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University. John has held various management and executive positions throughout his career. He is an active member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church and serves on the Board of Directors of the Farmers Bank and Sumner County United Way.
John is married to Dawn, a psychologist with a private practice in Portland. Their two sons, Zach and Luke are both graduates of Tennessee Tech University with degrees in Engineering.
The son of James and Dot Wilkinson, past partners of Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home in Portland. John has a vast knowledge of the area and is a full time Realtor.
